“Weld Monkey”
I met Dalton in February 2021.
At that time, Dalton was working part-time at a grocery store while pursuing a Welding program at a local Technical College. He had even finished his high school classes a semester early, giving himself a head start toward a career in Welding.
Dalton demonstrated remarkable ambition for his craft. He would come to our original shop location almost every week, between school and work, to practice and perfect his trade. At only 17 years old, he might have been considered too young for large field projects, yet his determination to grow and climb in his career was undeniable.
Just two days after his graduation, Dalton was in a welding booth at the NCDOT Materials and Test facility, taking the necessary welding test—marking the beginning of an impressive career.
Dalton officially joined Metalcraft Specialties Inc. as a full-time employee in June 2021 as a Fabricator/Field Welder.
Since then, he has achieved significant accomplishments. His experience includes:
- Bridge rehabilitation
- New bridge construction
- Miscellaneous fabrication skills
- Blueprint reading
- Task management
The nickname “Weld Monkey” was given to Dalton by Jeff Sexton, a nod to his fearless ability to climb anywhere!
Dalton holds multiple certifications, including:
- NCDOT
- SCDOT
- TNDOT
- Two in-house Metalcraft Specialties certifications
Dalton has proven himself capable of anything he sets his mind to. His exceptional skills, combined with a positive attitude toward life, make him a vital member of Metalcraft Specialties Inc. His love for God and strong family values truly put the icing on the cake.
